Baccarat

Baccarat offers a low house edge, which makes it popular with high-rollers.

The game involves a player and a banker (the casino). The turn passes between players around the 'table' although if a player does not wish to be a dealer then they can pass it on.

The Banker deals 2 cards to the current player. The winner of the game is whoever has the highest total of cards. Card values differ from other games as it's the right-most digit on the card which counts. So cards 2 - 9 are face value. a 10 is valued at 0, all picture cards are also valued at 0. The total of the hand is calculated in a similar fashion. The value of all cards are added together and then the right most digit is the final value of the hand. So if someone gets a 4 and a 5 their final score is 9. If someone gets a 6 and an ace their final score is 6. If someone gets a 7 and a 7 (14) their final score is 4. If a player gets a 5 and a 5 (10) their final score is 0.

In certain circumstances a third card can be dealt. If a players total is 5 or less then the player must hit. Otherwise they stand.
If the player stands then the banker must hit on 5 or less.
If the player hits then the banker can hit, but only in certain circumstances.
If either the player or banker have 8 or 9 then the above rules are ignored and they must both stand.

The players around the table have 3 bet options open to them. They can either bet on the player winning, on the banker winning or on a tie.
